Mr. Dassel — Guitar Instructor
Mr. Dassel has been playing acoustic, electric, and bass guitar for over 10 years. He has played in rock, church, pop, jazz, and other bands all over the country. He studied Music Therapy at New York University, where he learned to connect the play of music to mental healing and development.
“When I started to really fall in love music, my guitar ability exploded. I hope to teach in a way that allows my guitar students to discover their passions for music as they learn the guitar. It can help young children feel self-confidence, success, and active in so many great ways.”

ACE Piano Class
Learn, Practice, and Perform Piano with Expert Guidance
Recommended Grades : All Grades!
Prerequisites and Materials : ACE Academy Provides Books and Sheet Music
Program Format
At Ace Academy, we teach Acers piano through a strong balance of classical fundamentals and modern music. Students learn on our classical piano during class, and we can guide families in choosing the right piano or keyboard for home practice if needed.
Build Core Music Skills on Our Classical Grand Piano
Piano is a special instrument because it is one of the most visually clear ways to learn the foundations of music. We guide Acers step-by-step as they learn:
proper hand position and finger technique
reading music (notes, rhythm, and timing)
scales and foundational theory
coordination between both hands
dynamics and control
Explore a Wide Range of Music and Genres on Our Classical Piano
ACE Pianists are introduced to a variety of genres including classical, pop, and contemporary music. We focus on providing a solid repertoire in the classical artists such as Chopin, Beethoven, and Mozart, while also teaching them how to play modern styles in gospel, pop, jazz, and more.
Grow As a Student with Coordination, Focus, and Musical Understanding
Through piano, Acers strengthen coordination between both hands while building memory and concentration. Learning to read sheet music and play at the same time supports cognitive development, pattern recognition, and long-term focus: skills that will benefit Acers in school, life, and beyond.
Ms. Rhea — Piano Instructor
Ms. Rhea studies piano performance at university, and has 5 years of experience teaching children and teens. She is passionate about making piano motivating and understandable for kids, and loves to see ACE Pianists have fun with piano and feel successful.

ACE Drum Set Class
Build Foundational Musical Instincts Through Rhythm and Time
Recommended Grades : All Grades!
Prerequisites and Materials : Snare Drum Pad and Drum Sticks Recommended
Program Format
Drums are one of the most natural instruments to learn—students can start playing and feeling the beat from day one. Acers learn on our electronic drum sets in class for quiet, comfortable, and undisruptive practice, and we can help guide families in choosing the right drum set & accesories for home if needed.
Learn the Right Drum Techniques From Day One
Holding sticks and hitting the drums is not as easy as it sounds. At our ACE Drum classes, Acers learn how to play with proper stick grip, control and timing, and how to use their feet.
Explore Reading Musical Rhythm and Play Real Songs
With the drums, Acers have the freedom to learn songs much more quickly. Acers will learn to read musical notes as they play through fun rhythms and their favorite songs!
Develop Coordination, Focus, and Musical Awareness With Any Song
Drums knowledge makes it possible to play along to any song with nothing more than your feet and hands. Because rhythm is the foundation of all music, learning drums helps Acers understand and connect deeper with any music they might hear.
Mr. Dassel - Drums Instructor
Mr. Dassel has been playing the drums in jazz, pop, rock, and church bands since 2014. He studied Music Therapy at New York University, where he learned to connect the play of music to mental healing and development in a therapy setting.
“Music becomes more than sound when you learn the drums. It makes it so much easier to connect with the rhythmic and musical backbone of all your favorite songs. It is a true joy to see the expression on ACE Drum students when they find out they can play along to songs that they thought were cool and exciting. It’s really just a lot of fun.”

ACE Songwriting Workshop
A Place for Musical Creativity to Bloom
Recommended Grades : All Grades!
Prerequisites and Materials : MacBook, iPhone, or iPad
Program Format
In Our Songwriting Workshop, we help Acers turn their ideas into real songs. We teach songwriting on paper and digital software like GarageBand. Acers build on their knowledge of scales, rhythm, and chords to turn music theory into reality.
Learn How Music Actually Builds a Song with Theory, Scales, and More
Making music can seem like a very daunting task at first. With expert ACE teacher guidance, students will learn:
how to write melodies that feel natural and memorable
how to build chord progressions using real music theory
how to structure a full song (verse, chorus, bridge)
how to add rhythm and percussion sounds to a song
how to connect melody, harmony, and lyrics into one complete song
Acers Create, Play, and Experience Their Own Music
At Ace, Acers create real songs they can play and share. We teach Acers how to easily record their own music for sharing with friends and family. We also encourage performing self-made music. There is a real sense of pride that comes from performing something you wrote yourself.
Build Creativity, Pride, and Expression That Lasts Beyond Music
Songwriting helps Acers develop creativity in a meaningful way. It gives them a way to express thoughts and emotions while building confidence and independence.
“Engagement in creative activities like music composition is associated with improved problem-solving and cognitive flexibility (American Psychological Association.”
“Music-making promotes emotional expression, social connection, and self-confidence (American Academy of Pediatrics).”
Mr. Dassel - Songwriting Instructor
Mr. Dassel has been playing music since he was a little child, and playing in real bands since 2014. He started writing and recording songs in schools, continuing to perform and record songs as an individual and with bands. He studied Music Therapy at New York University, where he learned to connect the play of music to mental healing and development in a therapy setting.
“Ever since I really started falling in love with music, I really desperately wanted to start a band and be like my favorite artists. It would have been great if I was taught early on that making music doesn’t have to seem as scary as it might look! The language and theory behind making music might sound confusing, but it’s easy to understand when you follow your instincts and keep training your ears. It feels great to write songs and learn more about yourself no matter what mood you’re in.”
