Our Top Academic ACE Classes

Our Academic ACE Classes are designed to teach Acers foundational skills in every core subject and guide them towards the highest academic level.

  • Our Writing class is our longest-running and most popular class! Every week, students continue developing confident writing and stronger techniques, and they take home organized, structured, and descriptive essays that they can be proud of.

Our ACE Art Studio is a joyful space where creativity, curiosity, and imagination come to life! At Ace Academy, we believe that art helps children express their ideas, explore the world around them, and grow into thoughtful, creative individuals.

In this class, students experiment with a wide variety of artistic styles and materials while learning about artists, cultures, and ideas from around the world. Every week, students create colorful and exciting art projects they can proudly take home.

  • Our Abacus Class teaches the Japanese Abacus and Anzan (mental math) method — a proven system used in East Asia that helps children see math in their minds and solve algebra problems quickly and accurately.

Our Abacus Program has been helping our youngest Acers visualize and grow confidence adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing numbers with their fingers and head since 2009. With math literacy today at an all-time low, the visual confidence that abacus can teach is invaluable.

  • In our Journalism, Speech, Debate, and Publishing classes, Acers work closely with our instructors to develop an ACE Newsletter, practice state-level debate competing, publish writing onto real platforms, and more.

  • AP Calculus is one of the most challenging (yet valuable for college applications) classes a student can take in high school.

The difficulty is often not only the math itself — it is that the class moves very quickly and assumes students are already comfortable with advanced algebra, functions, and trigonometry. Students often say things like:

    “The class goes so fast.”
“I didn’t fully understand limits at the beginning.”
“So many people in the class are failing the unit tests.”

Our Intro to AP Calculus class is designed to prevent that experience.
We help students prepare ahead of time so they can enter AP Calculus AB or BC feeling confident and ready to succeed.

Our Top ACE Music Classes

Mastering Musical Performance and Technique

Performance:

We want our students to learn songs they love, and play them with skill and passion like they’re on stage.

ACE holds two musical recitals per year and partners with senior centers for special performances.

We also offer free professional audio and video recording for students who want to perform on camera!

Technique:

At ACE, our music students master:

  • Sight-reading music

  • Scales, chords, and theory

  • Hand coordination and posture

  • Expression and dynamics

  • Rhythm and timing

These skills are the foundation to a fruitful musical journey!

  • At our ACE Piano classes, students learn real piano technique and music theory through songs they love, building a strong foundation while having fun every step of the way.

Every semester ends with a recital, where students proudly perform and celebrate their progress with friends and family.

  • Our guitar class teaches acoustic, electric, and bass guitars through learning genres, technique, rhythm, and performance skills.

For younger students, we provide appropriately sized guitars so they can learn comfortably and safely. As they improve, students explore chords, melodies, and songs from different styles while gaining stage confidence at our Yearly Recitals.

  • Drums are one of the most natural instruments to learn—students can start playing and feeling the beat from day one.

Drums knowledge makes it possible to play along to song with nothing more than your feet and hands.

Our drum students gain rhythm, coordination, and percussion technique through learning their favorite songs. Students learn to perform with confidence across a variety of genres and styles — from rock and pop to jazz.

Our Top Enrichment Classes

Learning New Skills— Beyond the Standard School Curriculum.

  • Elementary: Fridays (3-4 PM)

    Advanced: Fridays (4-5 PM)

    • Elementary Division: Students start with fun, visual coding tools like Scratch and Code.org to learn basic commands, loops, and conditionals. They design their own games, animations, and stories, building a strong foundation in logic and digital creativity. Elementary ACE Coders can move onto more text-based software that prepares them for real coding languages later on.

    • Middle & High School Division: Technology is shaping nearly every field today, and the ability to code personal programs is extremely attractive on college applications and resumes. Our Coding & Programming Foundations class helps Acers move beyond beginner coding activities and begin learning the real skills, thinking, and tools used by real programmers with Python and AI Programming.

We focus on helping them develop the skills and confidence for AP Computer Science, school projects, and beyond.

  • Grades 7–12

Many students wait until senior year to think about college. By then, it can be too late to build the experiences that universities are looking for.

Our Building the Application college consulting program helps students start early to discover their career interests, plan their high school path, and build a powerful academic and extracurricular personal story that leads to very attractive college applications.

It is more important “The number of college applications has been rising significantly in recent years, while acceptance rates at many selective schools have fallen (Vox, 2024).”

Korean is one of the fastest-growing languages in the world — and learning it opens doors to new cultures, ideas, and opportunities. From K-pop and media to travel and business, understanding Korean helps students connect with a global community.

Our Korean Language & Culture class focuses on building strong foundations in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Students learn Hangul (the Korean alphabet), practice real conversation, and explore modern and traditional Korean culture and language in fun, interactive ways.

    Students will:

    • Master Hangul and basic sentence patterns.

    • Build vocabulary and conversation skills through guided activities.

    • Learn about Korean culture, customs, and modern life.

    • Gain confidence to use Korean in real situations.

The goal is simple — to help every student communicate clearly, appreciate another culture, and grow as global learners.

  • Schedule: Fridays (4-5 PM)

In our Art Class, students will work with our artist instructor to learn the basics of drawing, painting, watercolor, and sculpting. They’ll practice using color, shape, and space to make their ideas come alive. Each project is designed to help students think creatively while improving their technique.

    • Learn step-by-step techniques for painting and drawing.

    • Try out different materials and styles to find what they enjoy.

    • Build patience and focus through hands-on projects.

    • Create a collection of original artwork by the end of the semester.

Our goal is to help every student feel confident, creative, and proud of what they make — while building a strong foundation of art skills that last.
