“ EDUCATION IS NOT THE FILLING OF A PAIL. BUT THE LIGHTING OF A FIRE. ”

August 13, 2021
We are in much prayer for the upcoming school year 2021-2022 which begins on Thursday, August 19, 2021. This is the day that Ace officially begins the afterschool program which means we are servicing students from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. For families who have signed up for pick up services, your child/ren will be picked up by Ace vans. It is imperative that you communicate with Ace if there are any changes made as far as picking up your child/ren. Please note that Ace will not practice social distancing both in the vans and classroom. All vans will be sanitized daily. We have had a successful summer program without social distancing thus far.
There is a general concern for students & families as well as Ace staff and their families due to the rising cases of Covid, Delta variant and others. Ace staff will continue to wear masks at all times and we ask that students do the same while they are present. Since they will be coming from school, we kindly ask that they change their masks before entering, as we noticed that during the summer program many of the students’ masks are wet after morning recess and lunch recess. Not only are their masks wet, many students’ masks fall apart and the straps break which leads to no protection at all. Quite a few students had to change their masks throughout the day.
For this reason, we ask that parents provide extra masks for their child/ren while attending Ace.
Before entering Ace, students’ temperatures will be taken and monitored as well as given hand sanitizer upon entering. If your child/ren feels ill, has fever, cough or cold, we ask that you monitor your child/ren before sending them to Ace. If your child/ren’s condition becomes worse we ask that you keep them at home. We must be considerate of other students, Ace staff and their families.
Ace will continue to disinfect and sanitize reception area, classrooms and bathrooms daily.
We ask parents to provide all learning materials, school supplies, and personal items such water bottles, wipes, plastic eating utensils to make your child/ren’s afterschool environment safe. Help us slow the spread by bringing all the necessary items to make their stay comfortable and safe. Students love to share things with friends and classmates; however, we want to slow the spread.
Our afterschool program ends at 6:00 p.m., please be advised that a flat fee of $5.00 will be charged for any student picked up after 6:30 p.m. A slip will be provided stating the date and late pick up fee, you can either pay by Venmo or cash.
At the end of the day, we ask that all parents stay in their cars and call Ace when picking up your child/ren. One of our staff members will bring your child/ren to your car. If another family member or person is picking up your child/ren, please call Ace ahead of time, as we want to make sure they get home safe with the right person.
Once again, we are thankful for the opportunity to be part of your child/ren’s education. Moreover, we are grateful to all families who have been patient as we strive to bring Ace Academy back to its glory days.
